Helen Burke Judkins, 94, of Awendaw, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, September 12, 2021. She was the wife of the late Roy Delbridge Judkins of Newport News, Virginia. Plans for a future graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery located in Surry, Virginia have not been finalized at this time.
Helen was born July 30, 1927 in Jersey City, New Jersey. She was the daughter of the late John Burke and the late Virginia Michie Burke. She was retired from the Noland company. She loved reading, was an expert seamstress and an avid fan of sports / teams on which her sons and grandsons have been or are participants.
She is survived by her sons, William L. "Mike" Judkins, II (Kathy) of North Myrtle Beach, SC and Robert Alyn Judkins (Connie) of Awendaw, SC. In addition, she is survived by her sister, Barbara Quarles (William) of Rome, GA; six grandchildren, Robb Requard (April) of Dripping Springs, TX, Kristin Byrd (Jared) Of Oak Ridge, TN, Christopher Judkins (Katilynn) of Williamsburg, VA, Kasey Schneider (Curtis) of Melbourne, FL, Andrew Judkins of Atlanta, GA, Peyton Judkins, Awendaw, SC; and great-grandchildren, Austin Requard, Landon Requard, Jack Byrd, Reece Byrd and Hunter Schneider.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be made to Hidden Treasure (a school devoted to the education of special needs children), 500 West Lee Rd., Taylor's, SC 29687. This institution is important to the family due to Peyton having attended and graduated from this school.
