Helen Phillips Garner, 68, Bowman, died April 30, 2021.
She was retired from the State of Georgia Department of Human Services after many years of service. She was an active member of Deep Creek Baptist Church.
Survived by husband Ray; daughter: Stephanie (Jeff) Garner; granddaughters: Kelsey (Gabe) Menendez and Hayden Marie Benson; sisters: Martha Phillips, Joyce Bradford, and Loretta (Lamar) Freeman; siblings-in-law: Homer Webb, Lynda Phillips, Mary Helen Phillips, Brenda (Junior) Scarborough, Beverly Woods, Dale Garner, Ricky Garner, and David Garner.
Preceded in death by her parents, Jonah Baxter Phillips and Chester White Phillips; son, Chad Mitchell Garner; siblings: Clyde (Gladys) Phillips, Arthur (Vivian) Phillips, Noah (JoAnn) Phillips, Lillie Mae Webb, Leon Phillips, and Jimmy Phillips; brother-in-law: Dean Bradford and sisters-in-law: Anna Simmons and Myrtle Mealor.
Funeral services will be Monday, May 3, at 11 o'clock at Deep Creek Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery. The family is at the residence and will receive friends at the church from 10:00-10:45a.m. prior to the service on Monday.
Flowers are accepted and contributions may be made to Deep Creek Baptist Church Lottie Moon Offering Fund.
