Helen McGrew-Catanach, age 61 of Knoxville, TN formerly of Santa Fe, NM, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Fort Sanders Medical Center. She was a member of Sacred Heart Cathedral Catholic Church. Helen was a beloved mother and wife, who cherished quality family time. What made her happiest in life was being a good mother. Prior to being afflicted with a progressive illness, she was an active member of the Sacred Heart congregation where she served as both an usher and a Eucharistic Minister. Some of her fondest memories were the 10 years she spent working at Sacred Heart Parish Office as an administrative assistant to Rev. Msgr. Al Humbrecht. She loved to work outside in her garden and was an avid reader. She loved all animals especially dogs. She was always trying to help the underdog and the less fortunate. Her kind and generous heart will be missed by all. Helen is preceded in death by her mother and father, Juanita McGrew and James McGrew; and brother, Jamie McGrew. She is survived by her husband, Adam Catanach; daughter, Erin Catanach; sister, Sheila McGrew; and many other relatives in Knoxville, New Mexico, South Carolina, and Colorado. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy or Vasculitis Foundation - concentrating on Anca Vasculitis. Funeral Mass will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday February 2, 2021 at the Cathedral of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus with Msgr. Al Humbrecht officiating. Arrangements made by Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel. Condolences may be extended online at www.rosemortuary.com.
