Heike Bartholomew, age 81 of Canton, OH passed away in her residence on Tuesday, January 25, 2022. She was born on November 20, 1940 in Mainz, Germany to the late Wilhelm and Hedwig (Fricke) Bruckner. She was a LPN for 40 years. She worked with Barberton Citizens Hospital for two decades. Heike was very passionate about rescuing animals in need. She always advocated for those less fortunate than herself. In her spare time, she enjoyed walks around her neighborhood and gardening. She was described by those who knew her as a "diamond in the rough," and she had a very strong will. In addition to her parents, Heike is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Bartholomew, her sons, Mike and Denny Church, and brother, Uli Bruckner. She is survived by her son, Paul (Lanny Soliday) Church of Canton, OH, grandchildren, Hannah Mayberry, Robert Soliday, Thomas Church, Brennon Church, Preston Church, Chance Soliday, Cameron Church, Landon Church, and Avianna Church, and sister, Hiltrud Stollings of Vinton, OH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Heike's memory to the Stark County Humane Society (5100 Peach Street NE, Louisville, OH 44641). Arrangements entrusted to the Mark R.
