Hazel Belcher Sprinkle, 91, of Granite Falls, NC, departed for her heavenly home on Sunday, May 8, 2022 surrounded by loved ones. She was born September 10, 1930 in Tazewell, VA. She was a former resident of Chesapeake, VA and Madison Heights, VA. She was the daughter of the late John Belcher and Savanna Harvey Belcher. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond McKinley Sprinkle Sr.; infant son, Jerry Allen Sprinkle; brother, Warren Frank Belcher; and sisters: Virginia Frances Bond, Evelyn Marie, Bernice Elizabeth, Wanda Lois, Lee Moore, Malva Patricia, and Karen Beatrice. She is survived by her children: Raymond M. (Charlene) Sprinkle Jr. of Landrum, SC, James (Vivian) Sprinkle of Gladys, VA, Linda Fitzgerald of Madison Heights, VA, Sheron (Carl) McJunkins of Pulaski, VA, John (Christine) Sprinkle of Granite Falls, NC, Susan (Jimmy) Clark of Madison Heights, VA, Jody (Fran) Sprinkle of Sweet Briar, VA; 16 grandchildren: Raymond M. Sprinkle III, Christy Wilder, Rebecca Drew, Greg (Deone) Parnell, Kim Parnell, Jamie (Dwight) Skelton, James "Jimmy" Sprinkle Jr., David Crone, Hollie Andrea, Kelli Culver, Brandon (Lauren) Sprinkle, Stephanie (Tiffany) Sprinkle, Jody Sprinkle Jr., Kami (Patrick) Atkinson, Carrie (Sam) Burks, Dalton Nobles; 20 great grandchildren, and 12 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Dallas (Donna) Fitzwater, and sister, Ketta Yvonne. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, May 12, 2022 from 5:30 - 7:30 PM in the Jack Bass Memorial Building. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, May 13, 2022 in Oakwood Cemetery with Pastor Dan Duke officiating. Pallbearers will be Grayson Barnett, Jody Sprinkle, John Sprinkle, and Brandon Sprinkle. Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond Sprinkle, Jr, James Sprinkle, and Liam Wagoner. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 31 College Place, Suite D-103, Asheville, NC 28801. The family would like to thank Carolina Rehab of Burke for their compassionate care for Ms. Sprinkle during her stay. Bass-Smith Funeral Home in Hickory is serving the Sprinkle family.
