Hazel L. Gillette, 93, passed away peacefully on Jan. 21, 2026, at Hyalite Care in Bozeman. Hazel was born on December 1, 1932, in Great Falls, MT, to Elmer and Lillie Sprunger. She grew up on her family's farm in Dutton and graduated from Dutton High School.
She married George R. Gillette, Jr. in Dutton, MT on November 10, 1956. Throughout her life, she dedicated herself to raising her five sons.
She found joy in leading Bible study and had a passion for genealogy and historical research, alongside her love for flower gardens and houseplants. Known for her great sense of humor, Hazel will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her sons, George, Darwin (Annette), Mark (Debra), Steven (Tammy), and Robert (Diane) Gillette; daughter-in-law, Roxene Gillette; sister, Rudilla Chevalier; brother, Allen Sprunger; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Hazel was preceded in death by her husband George; sons, Kevin and Bryan Gillette; daughter-in-law, Raeann Gillette; and sister, Mary Marvyel Creek.
The family would like to thank Hyalite Care and Stillwater Hospice for their loving and wonderful care of mom.
The family invites all who knew and loved Hazel to join them in celebrating her life and legacy. Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Friday, Jan 30, at Manhattan Bible Church with visitation hours open to family and friends from 9-10 am. Following the funeral service, a graveside service will be held at Meadowview Cemetery. A luncheon will be provided at the Church after the graveside service.
Should friends desire, memorials in Hazel's name may be made to Manhattan Bible Church.
