Harvey was born in Lufkin, Texas on August 18th, 1962. Harvey grew up with a strong sense of work ethics and admired taking care of his family. Through his teenage years he earned the nickname "Cowboy" and graduated from Lufkin High School in 1980. He loved taking care of his Mama's and helping friends whenever he could. He is known for saying, "You need anything, holler." Harvey's brother describes him as "a brother that anyone would have been proud of."
Harvey met Alicia Ann in the fall of 1989 and by May 1990 they were married. They welcomed their first child Cody Roy and 12 years later their second son Patrick Aaron. Harvey was so proud of his boys. He loved spending time with them outdoors be it fishing, hunting, or the various projects he had. Harvey instilled in his boys the importance of taking care of family and friends. The boys say he was the best Dad you could ask for and is even teaching them life lessons to this day.
He loved so many animals including dogs, horses, wildlife, and especially his game chickens. His Momma recalls how evident his love for animals was even at the young age of 3. He always seemed to be at peace in the woods or on the water.
More joy came into Harvey's life when his grand babies Raylee Faye and Roy Allen were born. He shared his passion for the outdoors with them as well and took pride in being their beloved "Poppy".
Harvey was a hard worker who enjoyed working at Oliver Plumbing Inc. for a combined 18 years. When Harvey wasn't working, he cherished spending time with friends and family at fish fry's and BBQ's. He is known as a loyal, faithful, and forgiving man. His faith was evident to all those he talked to. As Harvey learned more about the bible, he started attending the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses faithfully. He treasured what he was learning and wanted to share it with everyone he could. (Acts 20:35)
