Harry Niel Poling, a proud veteran of the Navy, passed away on November 25th 2021 of complications following surgery. The son of Rubert and Lera Powers Poling, Harry grew up in Belington, West Virginia. He was born on August 17th, 1928. At the age of 17, Harry enlisted in the Navy near the end of World War II. He valued this service highly. He served on the USS Charles P Cecil DD-835 Gearing Class Destroyer. After the military he married Yolanda (Bunny) Marton of Youngstown OH and worked at B.F. Goodrich as a chemist until his retirement. Harry is survived by his sons David Poling [wife Melinda] of Hubbard Lake MI, Mark Poling of Alpena MI, and Bradley Poling of Tampa FL; granddaughter Jessica Poling Parker of Kiln MS; and grandson Philip Poling of Corolla NC . His loved ones will remember him for his kind heart, and gentle loving nature. He liked cross word puzzles, bowling, and go camping with family. A memorial honoring the life of Harry Poling will be held in West Virginia at a later date, to be announced. www.blountcurrymacdill.com
