Harry H. Hoskins, age 83, formerly of Warren, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 2, 2020, following a declining period of health.
Born September 20, 1937 in Farrell, PA; he was the son of William and Mary (Guthrie) Hoskins.
Harry proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force as an Air Traffic Controller. He was a graduate of Hiram College; and retired from Packard Electric where he worked as a General Supervisor of Personnel and Manufacturing. He served as a board member for "Someplace Safe" in Warren; he was a member of Champion Kiwanis, Old Eire Masonic Lodge #3, F & AM; he was an avid golfer, and enjoyed reading. Harry received the "Gift of Life" through a heart transplant in 1993, which extended his life another 27 years; in appreciation, he volunteered many hours at Lifebanc, where he shared his story with many audiences over the years.
Survivors include his children: Theresa "Terry" (Gene) White and Garry (Carrie) Hoskins, with whom he made his home; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sisters: Nancy Myers, Mary Bartlett, and Janet Gerasmic.
Besides his parents, Harry was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Geraldine "Gerry" in 2009; son Jeff in 2012; granddaughter, Bethany White; three brothers and a sister.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Louisville Baptist Temple, 6565 Columbus Rd., Louisville, Ohio 44641, on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at 1:00PM where friends will be received one hour prior to the service. A private burial service will take place at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
