Harry Alfred Gibson went home to Jesus on May 4, 2020.
He was born to Allen and Margorie Gibson on November 21, 1928 in Warren, Pennsylvania and spent his early life in Sheffield, Pennsylvania.
After attending The Pennsylvania State University, Al joined the Army and served during the Korean War. He was stationed at General Headquarters, Far East Command in Tokyo and also in France. He was always proud to be a citizen of United States of America and never took for granted the liberty so many fought for before him.
After graduate school, he enjoyed a lengthy career in the surety bond business. His jobs took his family from Pennsylvania to Ohio to Connecticut, then west to Seattle and finally to Dallas.
Throughout his entire life, he held an unwavering faith in God, which he shared with those who surrounded him. He believed wholeheartedly in Romans 8:39 "neither height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Al joins his parents, and his brothers, Don and Jerry, and his sister, Patty, in Heaven. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Barbara, and his children, Stephanie Taylor and husband, Louis, of Dallas and Jerry Gibson of Dallas, and four wonderful grandchildren, Trent Taylor, Blake Taylor, Courtney Gibson, and Carter Gibson.
Al requested that no memorial service be held. A family interment will take place at a later date at the Dallas/Ft. Worth National Cemetery.
A special thank you to Christian Care Center of Mesquite for their grace, support, and kindness.
