Harrison Bowers Dutton, known to family and close friends as "Harry", passed away suddenly on May 20th, in San Diego, California. He was 24 years old, born at Fort Carson, Colorado to parents Brian Lester Dutton and Emily Prince Dutton.
He is survived by his parents, his older brother, Grayson Douglas Dutton and his wife Hannah Holland Dutton of Columbus, Georgia, paternal grandparents, Douglas Lester Dutton and Sandra Bowers Dutton, of Knoxville, Tennessee, maternal grandparents, Blynn Edman Prince and Ruth Sanders Prince of Solway, Tennessee, and aunt, Julie Dutton Arnold and her husband Steven Ray Arnold, and their children, Leslie Claire Arnold, Joshua Nathaniel Arnold and his wife Morgan Deweese Arnold, and Hope Ashley Arnold, all also of Knoxville, Tennessee.
As an Army Brat, he lived in many places to include Colorado and the Republic of South Korea, but mostly Fort Knox, Kentucky, until the retirement of his Father, then moving to and growing up in Seale, Alabama.
He attended Russell County High School and was a member of the National Honors Society. Following graduation, he enrolled at Auburn University, and was a member of the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps with a full scholarship. He was also a proud member of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. He graduated cum laude with a degree in business and received his commission as an Ensign in the United States Navy. Following his commissioning, he was assigned to United States Naval Base San Diego, where he served aboard the USS Comstock (LSD 45) as a Surface Warfare Officer (SWO).
Harrison was always quite special, very inquisitive, would never hesitate to ask questions and always striving to learn more about whatever he was involved with. He could make friends easily, and had many of them. Even at a young age, he was able to carry on conversations not only with his peers but adults as well. He was outgoing, considerate, and always willing to help someone. Being born two months prematurely, he came into this life unexpectedly, and has now left this life too early and also unexpectedly.
A private service will be held at the East Tennessee State Veteran's Cemetery (John Sevier) with burial following.
