Harriett Fay Borger, of San Angelo, TX died on June 5th, 2022. She was born on the 19th of December, 1936 in Handley, TX to Dr Granville Nimmo and Fay Irene Goldston. She attended Elementary in Troy (TX), St Petersburg (Fl), Stephen F Austin, Lee Junior High, and San Angelo High School. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education (1958) Texas Christian University, where she also minored in opera.
Harriett began her career at Alta Loma (San Angelo ISD) where she was an elementary and Title 1 teacher for over 30 years. She loved her students and worked tirelessly for their success. She was awarded the Ginevra Wood Carson Educator of the Year award in 1996.
She married Alan Philip Borger of San Angelo on June 14, 1958 and had two sons, Mark and Donald. She was always looking for creative activities to keep her sons busy in the summer, including macram?, glass cutting, "stained glass", tie dying, candle making and many other 70's crafts.
Harriett was a founding member the College Hills Christian Church and of the San Angelo Road Lizards running club. She spent many hours volunteering at College Hills Christian and First Christian churches, for Meals for the Elderly, and for First Christian God's Storehouse Pantry.
Harriett's passions included her grandchildren, running, photography, stained glass, and gardening.

Harriett was preceded in death by her husband Alan Philip Borger, her father Dr Granville Nimmo Goldston, her mother Fay Irene Goldston, and her brother Donald Nimmo Goldston.
Harriett is survived by; son Mark Alan and wife Mary Nell of Fort Worth, Texas; son Donald Philip and wife Melody Dawn of Azle, Texas; seven grandchildren; Samantha (Jeff), Kasey, Alexander (Elizabeth), Chance (Julie), Anastasia, Brett, Brady and three great grandchildren. She is also survived by nephew; Jimmy Hall (Kim); nephew Jeffrey Hall (Tricia); and niece Jan Trantham (Sam); and sister-in-law Carolyn Goldston.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2022 at First Christian Church. Family and friends may sign an online guestbook at www.johnsons-funeralhome.com
