Harriet Nora Cook, age 100, of Flushing, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2020 at her home with family by her side. She was born September 9, 1919 in Harbor Springs, MI, the daughter of Harold and Adelaide (Deacon) Williams. On December 31, 1940, Nora married Daniel Cook in Mt. Morris, MI. She worked as a teacher for 25 years at Genesee County Children's Facility, before her retirement in 1978. She was a lifelong, faithful Christian. She was currently a member of Northern Michigan Baptist Bible Church in Alanson, MI, and taught Sunday School for many years. Nora was often called the families "prayer warrior," because she prayed every morning and night for those dear to her. Nora was loved by all and will be remembered for her many kind words and gentle spirit. Nora was an ever-loving devoted wife and mother, and spent countless hours baking, canning, and sewing clothes. She also loved being outdoors; hiking, walking, or just watching the birds and squirrels. Nora is survived by her daughter, Ardis (Larry) Macdonald; 8 grandchildren, David Cook, Tina Hodge, Daniel Cook, Diane Grossett, Lisa Coggins, Robert Cook, Nora Aker, and Greg Cook; 12 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Daniel in 2007; sons, David Cook in 2008, and Robert Cook in 2018; siblings, Edith Hosmer, Eugene, Emmett and Elwin Williams. Family graveside services were held at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Breckenridge, MI. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Lux and Whiting Funeral Home, Breckenridge.
