Harriet M. Daley, 81 of Watertown, passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at Watertown Regional Medical Center.
Harriet was born on May 4, 1944, in Oconomowoc, the daughter of Charles and Evelyn (Sielaff) Freeman. After graduating high school, she went on to earn a bachelor's degree in education from the University of Wisconsin Whitewater. On February 14, 1981, Harriet was united in marriage with Dennis Daley at St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Oconomowoc and the couple shared almost 45 treasured years together. Dennis and Harriet were faithful members of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Watertown. Harriet was a life-long educator and owned and operated her own daycare and preschool for over 35 years. She was a member of the American Association of University Women and was given the Women of Merit Award two years ago and was a member of the Waukesha County Homemakers Association. She also served in the Ladies Auxiliary in the Watertown Elks Lodge. Harriet was passionate about sharing her time and gifts with others, whether it was volunteering for Meals on Wheels, knitting many sweaters and blankets to give to those in need, or donating to many charities. She led a life of service to others and touched many lives through her gifts. Harriet will be deeply missed by all those who knew her.
Harriet is survived by: her loving husband Dennis; daughter Sarah (William) Yingst; son Daniel (Noel) Bersch; stepchildren Debora Daley and Diane (Phil) Waring; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and sister Janice (John) Steber. Harriet is also survived by a number of other relatives and many friends.
Harriet is preceded in death by her parents.
A Memorial service was held at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Watertown.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Harriet's name to Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church or the Elks National Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
