On September 20, 2022, Dean was welcomed home into the arms of Jesus whom he had loved and trusted since boyhood. Dean was born November 3, 1931 in Hopkins, Missouri to Guy and Lela, he was the 8th of 9 children. The family later moved to Iowa and Dean graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1950. On September 4th, 1955 he was united in marriage to Carmen Manfull. In May of 1956, he graduated from Johnson University in Knoxville, Tennessee and was ordained into the Christian ministry the same day. Over the next 10 years he served churches in Albion and Rapids City, Illinois and Pleasant Grove, Minnesota. Dean returned to Iowa and worked in sales during the week and often preached in area churches on Sunday. In May 2004, Dean and Carmen moved to The Villages, Florida. He especially loved golf and had 2 hole-in-one's. Through the years Dean enjoyed singing in the barbershop chorus and church choirs. He also enjoyed making new friends, church activities, playing cards and traveling until his health limited his activities. He especially loved reading his Bible and Christian books. He is survived by wife, Carmen. Daughters, Keri, Teresa, and Lisa. Grandchildren, Carmen, Janelle, Clayton, Jenna, Natasha, Chris and Destiny. Great-grandchildren Aason, Alaina, and Boston, and his sister Doris. A visitation will be Monday, September 26, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Richardson Funeral Home in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 27, 2022, 11:00 AM, at Cedar Fall Christian Church interment to follow at Traer Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 30, 2022, 1:00 PM at Villages Christian Church in Wildwood, Florida. Arrangements entrusted to Beyers Funeral Home of Lady Lake, Florida.
