Harold Lloyd Wilson, 89, of Seymour, Indiana passed away on Wednesday April 20, 2022, near Tampico, Indiana.
Born in 1933 in Russell Springs, Kentucky, he was the son of Jason and Ina Wilson of North Vernon, Indiana, both of whom proceeded him in death.
Harold graduated in 1953 from Seymour High School where he excelled in basketball. After high school he served in the United States Army from 1953-1955 and was a Korean War Veteran.
Harold had a strong work ethic and was an excellent provider for his family. He worked at Cummins Engine Co. for 32 years and was a member of the Diesel Workers Union. He retired from Cummins at the age of 53 and moved to Fort Myers, Florida with his wife Sharon for the winter months for many years.
Harold was a devoted husband and loving father. He met the love of his life, Sharon (Mundy) Wilson in Seymour, Indiana and they were married on October 18, 1957, at Central Christian Church where he remained a faithful member for 64 years. Harold and Sharon raised three sons, Mark, Dirk, and Matthew. He loved and adored his two daughters-in-law, Debby Wilson of Scottsburg, Indiana and Diane Grant Wilson of Wiesbaden, Germany. But, his granddaughter, Nora Leann Wilson was the light of his life and brought him so much joy.
Throughout his life, he enjoyed umpiring high school and college baseball. He especially enjoyed coaching little league. He was a member of The American Legion, The VFW, and The Eagles Club. His other interests were golfing, fishing, bird watching, and watching basketball, especially his favorite team: The Kentucky Wildcats.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Sharon (Mundy) Wilson of Seymour, Indiana; his son Matt Wilson, daughter in law, Diane Grant Wilson, and granddaughter Nora Leann Wilson of Wiesbaden, Germany; his daughter law, Debby Wilson of Scottsburg, Indiana; and his two brothers, Arnold Wilson, and Gerald (Carol) Wilson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two dear sons, Mark Wilson, and Dirk (Debby), and his siblings: Bernice Corya, Sylvia Miles, Jason Wilson Jr., Alvin Wilson, Louis Wilson.
A Graveside Service will be held on April 26, 2022, at 11:00 am at Riverview Cemetery in Seymour, Indiana with pastors Ben Yee and Tyler Dunn officiating.
Graveside Service arrangements have been entrusted to the caring staff at Voss and Sons Funeral Service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central Christian Church or to Charity of Choice in memory of Harold.
