Harold F. (Spike) Williams of Ocala, FL, formerly of New Castle, PA, died October 7, 2020 at age 92. He was born on August 17, 1928 to the late William Henry and Mary (Downs) Williams of New Castle, PA where he lived until retirement when he moved to Central FL. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca, whom he married on July 28, 1979. Also surviving are five daughters, Marcia (Alan) Gwin, Sondra (Fred) Martin, Brenda (Russ) Milliken, Kathleen (Chris) Wier, Christine McQuiston, of New Castle, PA, and daughter-in-law, Phyllis Williams, of Freedom, PA as well as 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, H. Fred Williams in 1998, a brother, William H. Williams, Jr. and two sisters, Mary (James) McCracken and Mabel (Jack) Hoover. Mr. Williams had been an entrepreneur since he was 14 years old when he operated a bicycle repair shop with neighborhood buddies. At 19 years old, he owned and operated a cabinet and furniture-making business. He was a self-employed commercial, institutional, and industrial general contractor serving as president of Preston & Williams, Inc. of New Castle, PA for 32 years. After retiring from Preston & Williams, Inc., he created a construction management company. In Lady Lake, FL he served on the building team and did preliminary design work of North Lake Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed playing golf and tennis and watching old cowboy movies on TV.
At the request of Mr. Williams, there will be no visitation or memorial service. Cremation is being entrusted to Florida Cremation Society.
