Harold E. "Sy" Williams, age 89 of Janesville, WI formerly of Darlington, WI passed away Sunday, March 31, 2024, at SSM Health - Janesville in Janesville, WI. He was born January 3, 1935, in Darlington, WI the son of Robert E. and Ethel (Trevean) Williams. Sy grew up in Darlington and graduated from Darlington High School in 1955. He was united in marriage to his best friend, Rosalie, on August 15, 1959 at Monroe United Methodist Church in Monroe, Wisconsin. Sy was drafted in 1959 into the United States Army and served from 1960 until being honorably discharged in 1963. Upon his return from the Army, he and Rosalie moved to Janesville, WI where they raised their family and lived the rest of their lives.
Sy is survived by his daughter: Pamela (Mark) Jenson of Darlington; two grandchildren: Terra Jenson of Ames, IA and Adam (Raechel) Jenson of Platteville, WI; two great-grandchildren: Mykelti and Logan; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Rosalie in 2011; and two brothers: Robert S. Williams and Alvin "Moe" Williams.
Sy was social by nature and "never knew a stranger." He enjoyed making new friends and telling stories to anyone who would listen. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening and sharing the bounty, helping Pam with ceramics, and was always willing to take vacation from his own job to come help on the farm with crops. His family was what made him the proudest, and he took every opportunity he could to make sure they knew how proud he was of them.
