Harold V. Weed Jr.
March 14, 1944 to
April 23, 2022
Harold, best known as Hal, was a man of integrity and honor. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Barbara; his children Patrick (Jennie) Weed, Colleen (Michael) Erickson, Thomas (Fabiola) Weed, and Karen (Travis) Williams. He has 14 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, nieces, nephews, his brother, his sister, and many friends. He proudly served in the USAF for 31 years after graduating from the Air Force Academy, as well as working as a civilian contractor working with the varying branches of the military. Hal enjoyed playing softball until the age of 71. He was a strong Christian, participating in church activities. He was a huge Vikings fan, Washington Capitals fan and a Dodgers fan. He battled Alzheimer's for several years, passing 4/23/2022.
The family will receive friends from 6-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at Miller Funeral Home, 3200 Golansky Blvd., Woodbridge, VA 22192, where a service will follow at 7:00 p.m.
A service will take place on Friday, August 26, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Fort Myer Old Post Chapel, 204 Lee Avenue, Fort Myer, VA 22211 with interment at Arlington National Cemetery immediately following with full military honors.
Please note: Those wishing to attend the service for Col. Weed on Fort Myer must arrive at the Post Chapel 45 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. All non-DoD affiliated visitors must use the Hatfield Gate on Washington Boulevard at South 2nd Street, Arlington. The address is Hatfield Gate, 2nd Street South, Fort Myer, Va. 22211. At this gate, all guests 16 years of age or older will be required to provide a valid, government issued photo I.D. All non-DoD vehicles are subject to a full search at the gate as well.
