Born in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Chris and Kathryn Stauss Wageman, on August 2, 1930. Harold was the oldest child with four brothers and two sisters. Their homes, for the first seven years, were in Filer and Buhl, Idaho, on rented farms.
Harold worked at a Bakery in Hood River, OR in 1950, until he was drafted into the Army on April 23, 1951. He served in Korea as a Medic from January, 1952, until honorably discharged April 16, 1954. He remained in the Army Reserve including three years in a Special Forces Unit, and then the Army National Guard retiring in March, 1980.
Harold got his GED and attended Link's School of Business where he excelled at accounting. He used his experience and education the rest of his life.
Harold married Velma Downing on May 27, 1954, saying it was the best decision in his life. Velma brought three children to the marriage, Lyndia, Charlotte and Jerry. Harold adopted them two years later. Harold and Velma were blessed with a son, Michael.
Harold had a fondness for memory games, crossword puzzles, fishing, camping and being with his family. Up until a year before his death he could be seen outside walking the neighborhood to stay in shape.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents - Chris and Kathryn Wageman, his brothers - Robert, Donald, Alfred and Marvin, and sisters - Loretta and Helen, daughter Charlotte Evans and grandsons Jeremy Evans and Mathew Townley.
The family offers their appreciation to the staff and residence of Truewood for their assistance and caring of Harold.
