Harold E. Stum, 95, of Carlisle, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born April 17, 1929, in Newville, PA, he was a son of the late Simon and Pearl Stum. He was the loving husband of the late Mabel J. Stum, with whom he shared 70 years of marriage.
Harold attended State Road Schoolhouse in Newville and was a member of Waggoner's Church in Carlisle. Before his retirement, he worked for Federal Equipment Company, Byers Lumber Company, and the Carlisle Hospital. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in Japan.
Harold leaves behind his 2 children, Dennis (Deborah) Stum of Annville, PA, and Crystal (Stephen) Kuhn of Carlisle, PA; 4 grandchildren, Stephanie Beverly of Carlisle,PA, Benjamin (Susan) Stum of Campbelltown, PA, Amy Evans of Carlisle, PA, and Ryan Kuhn of Carlisle, PA; 1 granddaughter-in-law, Diane (Stum) McClelland; 1 brother; and 6 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Zachary Stum; and his other siblings.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 11, 2024 ,2PM, at Waggoner's Church, 1271 Longs Gap Road, Carlisle, PA. Visitation at the church will be from 1PM-2PM. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to his church (addressed above), or to Heartland Hospice, 1200 Walnut Bottom Rd #302, Carlisle, PA 17015.
