Football was his favorite, as he kept his mother wondering what his crazy number was when he played football. John was interested in going to college, but his father was scheduled to go overseas to Germany. They decided to retire from the military and moved to Rocky Mount. College was out because John loved to enjoy himself, as college was secondary. John enjoyed people, and always with the help from sister, Kim, they would be prepared to play a prank on someone. He loved elderly people and he would give you his last dollar, insuring you were included in the activity. John was employed at Nash UNC Health Care basically all of his adult life. He had some periods of time working at other facilities, but basically always employed by UNC Hospital Systems. John enjoyed singing in the church chorus and in local theatrical productions. He was basically a "people" person who enjoyed whatever he did. John was also an "electronics guy", good utilizing and set-up of computers and systems. He was always having to get his parents' electronic problems back in proper order.
John is survived by his father, Harold "Mike" Michaletz; his aunts and uncles, Jimmie Lewis (Eppie), Nancy Pridgen, Gene Lewis, John Lewis (Becky), Ray Lewis (Ida), Leland Michaletz (Justine); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends throughout the military community; and special friend, Jennifer.
