Harold Kleckley, Sr., 87, passed away from Parkinson's the morning of May 22, 2024, at Fellowship Home at Cotton Hill in Cuthbert, Georgia.
Harold was born in Coleman, Georgia. He was the son of Arthur and Alma Kleckley. Harold graduated from Cuthbert High School; a 20-year veteran of the US Navy. Upon returning to Cuthbert, he was employed by Great Southern for 19 years, where he retired.
Harold was married to his high school sweetheart, Eleanor Jones Kleckley, for 66 years. Harold dearly loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Harold also enjoyed working outside, washing and polishing vehicles, painting, and mowing grass. Other than his parents, he was preceded by his four brothers, Curtis, Calvin, Melvin, and Brinson Kleckley and a son-in-law, Greg Wilkerson.
Survivors include his beloved wife Eleanor and their three children, Harold Jr and wife Debra, Kimra Wilkerson, and Joel Kleckley. Grandchildren include Heather and Larry Worsley, Wendy Kleckley and Rhonda, Adam and Jessica Wilkerson, James Kleckley and Missi, Brandon and Amber Wilkerson, Hannah and Bryan Frantz, Christy Kleckley and Zodie. Great-grandchildren include Jamie and Ragan Head, Joe Worsley and Emily, Jaxton Kleckley, Jordan and Jacob Kleckley, Blake and Blaine Frantz, Haley Wilkerson, Lucas Bowen, Lee Wilkerson, and a great-great-grandchild Audrey Head.
The funeral will be held at New Bethel Baptist Church in Cuthbert, GA, on Friday, May 24, 2024, at 11:00 am with Rev. David Crowdis and Rev. Clint Yelverton officiating. Pallbearers are Adam Wilkerson, James Kleckley, Brandon Wilkerson, Joe Worsley, Cole and Cullen McDonald. Honorary pall bearers will be Jaxton, Jordan and Jacob Kleckley. The family will receive friends in the church from 10:30 am until funeral time.
