Harold Fleming Harris, Jr., 83, of Sullivans Island, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Thursday, January 6, 2022. A private family service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel.
Fleming was born October 15, 1938 in Clinton, South Carolina, son of Harold Fleming Harris and Lucy Burns Harris. After growing up in Columbia, and attending Dreher High School, he received his undergraduate degree from Wofford College and furthered his education with a Master's degree from The Citadel. Although he taught at Moultrie HS for several years, he is fondly remembered as the Principal for Sullivans Island Elementary School. He served the Lowcountry there until he retired.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Greves Harris.
He is survived by two sons, Harold "Bo" Fleming Harris III (Cheryl) of Mt. Pleasant, Clay Harris of Mexico; grandchild, Liam Allan Harris of Mt. Pleasant; step daughter, Kym Zobel (Bill) of Mt. Pleasant; step son, Rusty Smith of St. Stephens; his longtime companion, Jeannie Howell; two step grandchildren, Kaitlin Epperson of Ft. Collins, CO, and Chase Zobel of Mt. Pleasant; ; sister, LuEtta Harris of Florence, SC; and brother, Burns Harris (Mary Ann) of Columbia, SC.
