Harold Dean Carrier, of Ellicott City, MD, formerly of Selbyville DE and Monrovia MD, passed away
peacefully on February 23, 2024, at the age of 84.
Born July 30, 1939 to Harley and Charlotte Carrier (nee Emmons) in Seneca, Nebraska, Hal was raised in
Valentine, NE. He is a graduate of Valentine High School and University of Nebraska at Kearney.
Hal is survived by Kathy, his wife of 54 years, his children Joel (Linne) of Clarksburg, MD, Jill (Darren)
Calhoun of Hampstead, MD, Joan (Keith) Callaway of Bridgeville, DE, and Judd (Stephanie) of King
George, VA; and his grandchildren Zachary, Sofia, Vincent, Ainsley, Sean, Joshua, Jace, Simon, and
Jacob. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Harlin & Joyce Welch, lifelong friend Sam
Spain, and many nieces and nephews.
From humble beginnings, Hal lived an extraordinary life and will remain a part of our hearts. A celebration
of life will be held at Heartlands Senior Living Village at Ellicott City on March 14 th at 1pm; and committal
will be held at Community Church of Ocean Pines, MD on March 16 th , at 1pm.
