Hallie Jo Jackson Reesing, of San Antonio, Texas, died on Thursday, July 29, 2021. She was born to Horace K. Jackson, Sr. and Bessie Earle Gilder Jackson on June 19, 1927 in Waco, Texas.
Hallie Jo grew up in Gatesville, Texas and graduated as valedictorian of the Gatesville High School class of 1945. She graduated cum laude from Baylor University in 1949. She was a member of the Alpha Omega Club and later affiliated with Pi Beta Phi.
On December 17, 1949, she married John W. Reesing. They celebrated 64 years of happy marriage until his death in 2014.
Mrs. Reesing taught adult women's Sunday School classes over fifty years and at the time of her death was a member of Shearer Hills Baptist Church. She was active in the Daughters of the American Revolution having served as Regent of two chapters and served as Chairman of several State Committees of the Texas State DAR. She was a member of the Woman's Club of San Antonio, Pi Beta Phi Alumnae Club, Albert Sydney Johnston United Daughters of the Confederacy, Baylor University Alumni Association and Development Council, and PEO Chapter X.
She is survived by her two daughters, Jo Bess Reesing Hammer, MD and spouse, Lisa Anthony of Austin and Catherine Anne Reesing Tiller and husband Bill of San Antonio; grandsons, Joel Hammer, Nathan Hammer of Austin and Andrew Hammer of Bozeman, Montana; granddaughters, Catherine Tiller Huddleston and husband, Ben of Uvalde, Texas and Rebecca Tiller Jones and husband, Colby of San Antonio; great grandchildren, Maggie and Louis Huddleston; Evelyn Smith of Denton, Texas; niece, Jean Jackson Harris of Gatesville, Texas and her children, Megan, Mac, and Jack; cousin, Bill Nesbit of Waco, Texas and other cousins in Seymour and west Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John W. Reesing; great grandson, Willis Huddleston; brother, Horace K. Jackson, Jr. and wife, Anne; aunt, Margaret Nesbitt; and nephew, Horace K. Jackson III.
The family will receive visitors on Monday, August 9, 2021 from 10:30 to 11:00 AM at Shearer Hills Baptist Church.

Interment will take place in the Gatesville Masonic Cemetery, Gatesville, Texas on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at 11:00 AM. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Hallie Jo Jackson Reesing Scholarship Fund payable to Baylor University, One Bear Place #97050, Waco, Texas 76798.
