Mrs. Gwendolyn Y. R. White, wife of Carl White for 55 years, entered eternal rest September 8, 2024 in Bradenton Florida. She was the daughter of Dea. Albert Reddick, Sr. and Inez F. Drayton Reddick. Her children are Stephanie L. White and Steven C. White. She received her Masters Degree and was employed with Columbus Avenue Elementary School in Freeport New York as a Kindergarten & 3rd Grade Teacher until her retirement. She was a member of Memorial Presbyterian Church, Roosevelt, New York serving as Elder and Deacon and Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Aiken, South Carolina which was her foundational upbringing. She was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Theta Iota Omega Chapter, Long Island NY and Kappa Upsilon Omega Chapter, Aiken SC, and volunteered with Greendale Elementary School, New Ellenton, SC, serving as a Teacher's Aide/Mentor for almost twenty years. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday, September 16, 2024 (Viewing from 10-11 AM) at Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 130 Independent Blvd, Aiken, SC, Rev. C.A. Scott, Pastor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church or the Alzheimer's Association.
