Gwendolyn Parker Johnson, age 77, accepted her heavenly call on Wednesday, October 12, 2022. Gwen was born November 27, 1944, in Gary, Indiana to the late Henry Parker and Jannie Parker. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Trinity Baptist Church by the late Rev. W.H. Thomas. She graduated from Froebel High School in 1962 and attended Indiana University Northwest. She worked at US Steel for 20 years before retiring from the Crisis Center with 20 years of service. She is preceded in death by three brothers, Theodore Traylor, Larry Traylor, and Kenneth Parker and two sisters, Doris Newton, and Faye Tillotson. She leaves to cherish fond memories one sister, Henricine Brown, one brother, Robert Parker, and one goddaughter, Venessa Donaldson and a host of nieces, cousins, and friends. Viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, from 9am to 11am with funeral services at 11am at Smith, Bizzell and Warner Funeral Home, 4209 Grant Street, Gary, Indiana 46408, Pastor J.R.
