GWEN BROWN
MOM
On Wednesday, March 30th in the early morning hours, Gwen Brown went to the arms of her loving Savior.
Gwen was born August 14, 1936 in Bellingham, WA. She was the 4th of 10 children born to Harold and Signe Erickson, who were dairy farmers on Swede Hill in Ferndale, Washington. She graduated from Ferndale High School in 1954 and married her high school sweetheart, Allen, that summer.
Their first born, Janet was born the following year and in the next few years they welcomed daughters Holly and Tracy and son Todd.
Gwen was passionate about life, she cherished her family, embraced her faith in God, loved her friends and making new ones. Mom volunteered with Children of Valley for several years, 12 Years of Leadership with Bible Study Fellowship, and she was involved over the years in her church and with many civic organizations. Mom looked forward to her sister trips, golfing with them as well as golfing at the Country Club, many boating adventures, chaperoning SVC sporting trips home and abroad, RV adventures with friends, spending time on Samish Island. Mom embraced her Swedish heritage and loved hosting an annual Christmas lutefisk dinner for friends and loved baking cookies for grandkids. Mom was always ready to help a need in the community, always available with a meal for someone in need or a phone call of encouragement.
Gwen is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Allen and their 4 children: Janet and Wes Gibbs of Bellingham, WA, Holly and John Hilts, Tracy and Tim Reichert and Todd and Yvonne Brown, all of Burlington.
