Guy T. Slowkowski, 57, of Plainville, passed away peacefully after a lengthy battle with muscular dystrophy, on May 17, 2022 at Bristol Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He is now reunited with his beloved mother.
Guy was born on May 5, 1965 in Meriden, CT, son to Anthony V. Slowkowski and the late Iris E. (Jones) Slowkowski. He graduated from Southington High School and went on to further his education at Goodwin Technical School. He worked as a machinist for several years at Ideal Forging in Southington, alongside his father. Guy led a simple life and enjoyed the little things, including the sports of football and hockey. He was an avid Nascar fan and looked forward to watching the races. Although he will be missed dearly, Guy's family takes comfort in knowing that his battle is over and he is at peace.
In addition to his father, Guy is survived by his brother, Anthony (TJ) Slowkowski and his wife, Lisa, his aunt, Linda DeVivo and her husband, Donald, his uncle, Peter Slowkowski and his wife, Pam, and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
A Celebration of Guy's life will be held at 7 PM on Friday, May 20, 2022 at Plainville Funeral Home, 81 Broad Street, Plainville. Family and friends are welcome to gather at the funeral home prior to the service from 5 to 7 PM. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery will be held privately.
