OREGON, Wis. - Guido J. Manicor, age 90, of Oregon, passed away on Monday, Dec. 6, 2021, at Sienna Crest. He was born on Aug. 16, 1931, in Vulcan, Mich., the son of Guido Manincor and Giuseppena (Branz) Manincor.
Guido graduated from high school in Vulcan in 1949, and quickly enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War. He married Phyllis Caddy Manicor on Oct. 12, 1957, and together they lived in Rhinelander from 1957 until 2018, where he was a longtime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Prior to retirement, Guido worked as a repair technician for AT & T for over 35 years.
In his free time, Guido loved wood working, cross country skiing, hunting, and fishing. He and his wife were avid gardeners. He had a reputation for being able to fix anything, and he was always tinkering with something. He was incredibly good at fixing! Guido enjoyed traveling all over the U.S. and also took a few trips out of country, including Italy and the United Kingdom.
Guido is survived by his sons, Scott (Amy) Manicor and Steven Manicor; granddaughters, Audrey (Tim Liu) Manicor, Ashley Manicor, Sophia Manicor, Leah Manicor and Abby Manicor; and nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Mike (Ann) Manincor, Walter (Bernice) Manincor, Louis (Shirley) Manincor and Albert (Lucy) Manincor; sister, Mary (Bob) Miller; and wife, Phyllis Manicor.
