
Grover Cleveland Tompkins Jr
In his life, as in his death, he was determined to show the world things that some were afraid to see and others wished they could ignore.
Grover Cleveland Tompkins, Jr. entered into eternal rest on April 6, 2019. Son of Grover Cleveland Tompkins, Sr. and Francis Harrelson Tompkins (both deceased), was born October 26, 1945 in Georgetown, SC. Tompkins was a former Charleston County patrolman and detective.
He was a member of many groups, Omar Shriners, Scottish Rite, Fidelity Masonic Lodge, VFW, Moose Lodge and many social clubs and lounges.
Surviving are his son, Thomas “Tommy” William Tompkins (Daria) and daughter Kristina “Kissy” Tompkins Gillam (Joey) his 5 grandchildren, Joseph Tompkins (Rae), Gregory Gillam, Callie Gillam, Patrick Gillam, and Darby Tompkins.
Grover’s surviving siblings are Deanna T. Leasure and George Tompkins (Susan), and a sister that left before him Mary T. Finger (Carl)
