Gregory F. "Zoom" Zumach, 79, of La Crescent, MN passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 21st, 2024, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse.
Greg was a devoted husband, loving dad and stepfather. He loved singing country music and playing his harmonicas. He last played his harmonica for his niece, Patty Brown, a few weeks ago. Zoom enjoyed his dogs, Pudg and Skipper and his cat, Patches. He also enjoyed spending time with his three childhood friends Willy Lorenz, Bernice Baumgartner, and Joe Stemper. Greg retired in 2009 from Trane Co. as a machinist.
Greg is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carol (nee Cordes) Zumach; daughter, Katheran Zumach-Rhoads; son, Aaron James Zumach; stepchildren, Keith (Nancy) Lewis, Dawn (Dean) Stennes, and Terry (Dawn) Lewis; grandchildren, Julie Iverson, Katelyn Lewis, Christina Lewis, and Bryce J. Zumach; great-grandson, Brandon Burkhalter; and many nieces and nephews.
Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Aaron and Clara Zumach; in-laws, Herbert and Delores Cordes; sisters, Elaine (Merle) Holliday, Phyllis (Harold) Zibrowski, and Cecelia (Wilmer) Horn; and his foster brother, Carl Fuller.
A celebration of life will be held from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at the Hokah Fire Department, with military honors to follow at 2:10 pm. Online condolences can be given at www.schumacher-kish.com.
