Gregory Bernard Ellis, 65, of Gainesville, FL passed away on Monday, June 20, 2022, at Malcom Randal Veterans Medical Center.
Mr. Ellis was born on Tuesday, December 25, 1956 to Doris Ellis and Louraine (Banks) Ellis. A lifelong resident of Gainesville, he was a graduate of P.K. Yonge Laboratory School. After graduating high school, he attended Miami Dade Mortuary School and Aeronautics thierr School. Later he joined the military earning the rank of Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force.
Gregory is a lifelong member of St. Paul CME Church until his demise.
He leaves to cherish his everlasting memory; his wife, Deborah Ellis, San Antonio, TX; daughter, Terri Lane, Savannah, GA; brother, Morris Ellis (Vivian), Gainesville, FL; sisters, Cynthia Scott (Selah), Middle Island, NY and Pamela Ellis, Gainesville, FL; granddaughter, Javante Lane; other relatives and caring friends.
Visitation for Mr. Ellis will be Friday, July 1, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Chestnut Memorial Chapel.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Faith Missionary Baptist Church, 2905 SE 21st Avenue, Gainesville, FL 32641, Rev. Kevin Thorpe, Pastor, with Rev. Kenneth Ellis, Officiating.
Interment will be Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at 11:30 AM in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the Ellis Residence, 715 SE 15th Street, Gainesville, FL 32641 at 2:15 to form the Cortege.
Due to COVID-19, all in attendance are asked to please wear a facial covering.
