GREGORY ROBERT DEAN, grandson of the late Nelson Daniel Jacobs and Anna Bell Wells-Jacobs and the son of Robert Dean and Betty Mary Jacobs-Seeney, was born in Chestertown, Maryland on June 13, 1953. Gregory transitioned and headed to glory on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at his home in Brown's Corner on the outskirts of Centreville, Maryland.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Stevie LaPaul Dean born on June 13, 1955. Also laid to rest were his nephews, Stevie LaPaul Dean, Jr. and Sheuron Dean and his favorite uncle and neighbor, William Nelson Jacobs.
Gregory attended schools in Queen Anne's County, and graduated with the QACHS class of 1971. He recently attended his 50th year class reunion. He had a passion for working on automobiles and acquired additional training at Delaware Technical & Community College in Dover, Delaware. He was currently employed by Martinez Hauling, Inc., as a Truck Driver located in Cordova, Maryland. He loved driving trucks and was previously employed with Mike Davidson Enterprises in Camden, Delaware, Mike Davidson Excavating and Innovative Ideas, both in Goldsboro, Maryland and Tuck Davidson in Church Hill, Maryland.
Gregory loved to go out fishing on his boat, and worked on vehicles in his spare time.
He leaves to mourn: his devoted sister, Lou Nell Jacobs-Badgett (spouse Darryl C. Badgett, Sr.) and their children, Brian Adam Badgett of Waldorf, MD, Darryl Carson Badgett, Jr. (U.S. Army), Fayetteville, NC, Letoria Lee Badgett-Woods (spouse Antoine DeAndre Woods) along with their children, Antoine DeAndre Woods II, Emmy Snow Woods, Londin Marie Woods and Porter McKinley Woods of Oxon Hill, MD; sister-in-law, Crystal Dean and her children, Stephanie (Girl-Girl) Dean-Jason and Sharmonique Dean and her children, Jasmine Nalonie Dean, Jaylan Sheuron Dodd-Dean, Jazaya-Stephanie Stevie Dodd-Dean and Jayla Nicole Dodd-Dean of Centreville, MD and his nieces Skylar London Dean and Janasha Dean. Gregory leaves a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
A special thanks to his cousins and neighbors, Ms. Lillian Brown and her granddaughter, Ms. Angela Williams-Ross, Jeff Unger, our new neighbor who would prepare meals and share with him while watching sports, and Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey Hollis. They looked out and helped him whenever they could.
His official home going memorial will be during the summer of 2023.
