Dr. Graeme MacQueen died at home in Dundas from cancer on April 25, in the loving presence of his wife and daughter, Sharon and Jessica. He leaves behind his brother Ken and sisters Meg and Lorna.
After graduating with a Ph.D. from Harvard, he joined the Dept. of Religious Studies at McMaster, where he taught Asian religion to thousands of students, being honoured for excellence in teaching by the McMaster Student Union. He established the Centre for Peace Studies and was involved in peace-building activities in different war zones.
After retirement, he dedicated his research to a critique of the foundations of the War on Terror.
Graeme had friends all over the world, and was appreciated for his creativity, courage, and dedication to peace and justice.
The family will hold a private memorial in celebration of his life. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to a non-profit of your choice.
