Grace Elizabeth Weaver Robbins passed from this life on November 9th, 2021. Liz was born on December 22, 1929 to TL and Grace Weaver in Honey Grove, Texas. She lived on the Red River until the family moved to town, where she graduated high school in 1947. She earned her Bachelor of Science from East Texas State Teachers College in 1950. Liz also married Bill Robbins that same year. Liz taught school and Bill coached in various East Texas public schools until the couple settled in Dallas in 1955. Tommy Doak Robbins, the couple's firstborn son, was born in 1955, followed by second son Robin J Robbins in 1958. Liz returned to the classroom in 1960 in Richardson ISD, where she generally taught 5th grade until her retirement in 1986. Liz was an avid reader, and was never far from a book. She didn't like to cook, but was great at it. Liz was never shy about sharing her opinions. In addition to her role as a professional educator, Liz was a devoted wife and mother. Liz was a Methodist but on Saturdays she turned into a good Catholic following her favorite football team, Notre Dame. Her best advice was, "When you come to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on!" Liz is survived by her two sons, Tommy Doak Robbins and Robin J Robbins. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, extended family, hundreds of former students, and numerous friends who love her dearly and hold her in high regard. Liz was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Bill Robbins, her parents TL and Grace Weaver, and her sister Mattie Lou Davis.
