Gordon Nesheim, age 73, of Clark, died Monday afternoon, May 3, 2021, at a Sioux Falls Hospital.
Gordon was born July 30, 1947, in Clark, SD, to parents Melvin and Mavis (Ness) Nesheim. He attended rural schools and graduated from Clark High School in 1965. He attended Northern State University and in June 1967, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He was honorably discharged in 1971 but served in the Reserves until 1973.
In 1972, he moved to Rapid City and worked for Ray's Garbage Service. He later started Gordy's Garbage Service which he sold and then he returned to Watertown in 1978. He worked for Telelect in Watertown and then in Huron retiring from there in 2013. After retirement, Gordon moved back to Clark and wintered in Benson, AZ.
He enjoyed golfing, was a Green Bay Packer fan, was a history buff, especially military history and an avid reader. He won awards for his 1966 Mustang at car shows.
Gordon is survived by his sister, Sandy (Tom) Jones of Rapid City; his brother, David (Valorie) Nesheim of Watertown; one niece, Brandi; four nephews, Daniel, Tony, Lenny and Rob; two great nephews, Bradley and Nolan; two great nieces, Payton and Breanne; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and a brother, Odean "Ode" Nesheim.
