Gordon L. Brinegar, 91, of Evansville, IN passed into the hands of his Lord and Savior on Saturday evening Oct. 17, 2020 at Ascension St. Vincent hospital in Evansville, IN.
Gordon was born on March 7, 1929 in Indianapolis, IN, the first son of Gordon Cecil and Carrie H., (McNabb) Brinegar.
Gordon was a hard working man who was a long time glazer, a member of the International Union of Painters and allied Trades, local 1165 for over seventy-four years. He Owned and operated Brinegars Glass Shop in Odon, IN for 40 years. Gordon was a proud 65 year member of the Grand Lodge Free and Accepted Masons of IN - Keystone Lodge No. 251. He was a man of great faith who regularly shared his testimony with those he came into contact with. His faith was shown in his daily life through his kindness, Christian values, and his warm smile. He is a current member of the New Bethel Baptist Church in Evansville, IN and previously an active member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Odon IN.
He is survived by his wife Phyllis (Robertson) Brinegar, his children William "Bill" Brinegar (Carol), of Lake Placid Fl., John Brinegar of Radcliff, KY, Tom Brinegar of Odon IN, Tim Brinegar (Betty) of Clarksville, TN., Eldenia Byers (Larry) of Bloomfiled, IN, Joe Kinser (Nettie) of Clay City, IN, Susie Head (Greg) of Evansville, IN, Tammy Miley of Elnora, IN., his brother Gerald Brinegar of Bristol, IN and 27 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Eugene Brinegar, and his brothers Jack and Billie Brinegar.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. EST on Wednesday, October 21, 2020, officiated by Pastor Mark Lowe, at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 21, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. A Masonic service will be held at 12:00 p.m. by the Keystone Lodge. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Odon.
