Goldie Hensley 94, of Scottsburg, IN, formerly Pathfork, KY went home to be with Jesus on March 1, 2021. She was born on June 2, 1926 a daughter of the late Will and Dora Jones Lawson. She was a member of Broadway Pentecostal Church in Austin, IN and was a member of Blackstar Pentecostal Church during her years in Kentucky. Goldie retired from BF Goodrich after nearly 20 years. Goldie loved her family especially cooking soup beans and spending holidays together. Her favorite pastime was going shopping at JC Penney's and lunch on Saturdays, then church on Sundays. She loved the Lord and lived for Him always.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marr Hensley: sisters, Mae Fuson, Cora Brown, Loretta Brewer and brother, Charles Lawson.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry (Elona) Kirkland and Noble (Cindy) Hensley; grandchildren, Almitra (Tim) Hensley Quimby, Angie (Rob) Hensley-Langrel, Shana (Reed) Johnson and Todd (Anne-Marie) Kirkland; eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; brother, Bill (Jackie) Lawson and sisters, Shirley Hensley, Violet Perry, Daisy Johnson and Peggy Phillips and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Services will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 5, 2021 at Blackstar Pentecostal Church with Rev. Joseph (JC) Craig and Dewell Perry. Music will be by Blackstar Church. Burial will follow at Saylor Cemetery at Pathfork.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 12 Noon until the funeral hour at the Blackstar Pentecostal Church.
