FORT MILL, SC ~ Mrs. Gloria Ann Watson Williams, age 84, passed away Monday, September 5, 2022. She was born May 12, 1938, in Sheridan, WV, a daughter of the late Denver Paul Watson and Edna Hodge Watson and was the wife of Homer M. Williams, married 66 years. Mrs. Williams was a member of Faith United Methodist Church of Oak Hill, OH, and had served as a Sunday School Teacher and past president of The Women's Society. She was a retired teacher of the Jackson City School System in Jackson, OH and served twice as President of the Jackson City Teachers Association. Mrs. Williams was commissioned Kentucky Colonel by Governor Patton of Kentucky in 1999.
Mrs. Williams was a member of the former Oak Hill Chapter of the Eastern Star, serving five times as Worth Matron. She also served three years as Grand Representative of California in Ohio when her husband served in the Grand Line of Officers for the Grand Chapter of Ohio Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Williams was a member of Teresa Chapter Order of the Eastern Star in Proctorville, OH.
Mrs. Williams is survived by her three sons, Timothy (Mary) of Painesville, OH, Jonathan (Cindy) of Urbandale, Iowa, and Christopher (Tammy) of Waxhaw, NC; eight grandchildren, BreeAnn Cowger, Kay Lynn King, Jenalee Jiskott, John Williams, Jane Williams, Margaret Williams, Sarah Williams, and Camryn Williams; seven great grandchildren; and a sister, Eloise LaRue of Fitzgerald, GA.
Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Canzaza Arkle and Donna Kelly; and a brother, Denver P. Watson, Jr.
The Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Williams will be private.
