Gloria Jeanne Welch

Gloria Welch, 80 of Southport, NC died on July 22, 2024.

Gloria was born on September 23, 1943 in Augusta, Maine. She was a daughter of the late Aurele Joseph Violette and Juliette Dubois Violette.

Gloria was a graduate of Southern Indiana University. She was a CPA, Controller for Budget Rent-A-Car, and a Small Business Owner of Gloria Jeans Coffees. She retired in 2002 and became very active in the St. James and Oak Island community and church. She was a church organist for St. James, multiple quilting groups, President of Sacred Heart Church Guild, and a Dosher Hospital Volunteer for 14 years.

Surviving are her husband, John Welch; sons, Stephen R. Welch and William A. Welch; sister, Priscella Violette, and brother, J. Donald Violette.

A mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 26, 2024 at 12:00 PM in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Southport. Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parkinson's Association.
