Gloria Ellen Swettenam, 84, of Seymour, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Vincennes, Indiana to the late E. C. and Naomi Retha (Cornett) Hamke.
Funeral services will be at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Friday, January 17 at 6:00 p.m.
Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until time of service.
On December 28, 1955, in Marshall, Illinois, Gloria married Leo Swettenam, Jr.; he survives. She obtained her teaching degree from Vincennes University and taught in Oleny, Illinois. She was a homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother who loved caring for her family.
Gloria is survived by her husband of 64 years; daughter, Deborah Sue (Linda Humphreys) Swettenam; son, Michael T. (Nancy Scott) Swettenam; and grandson, Evan Alexander Scott Swettenam
She was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, JoeAnn Hamke Meier, Betty Jean Hamke Miller and Edna Lois Hamke Wagner.
