Gloria Ann Link (Fowler) went home to Jesus on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at age 73 due to complications of cancer and Alzheimer's Disease.
Gloria was born to Albert and Pearl Fowler on April 18, 1947 in Prince Frederick, Maryland. As a child, she accepted Christ into her heart at Lansdowne Assembly of God Church with Pastor Robert L. Files. She became a Sunday School teacher at that church for many years. When not teaching Sunday School at church, she played Sunday School at home with her seven younger siblings, teaching them all about Jesus and His love for them. She taught them many songs about Jesus. All of them are serving the Lord to this day. Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which was evident by all she said and did.
Gloria and her husband John, of 52 years were married on August 3, 1968. Shortly after marrying, they moved to Maryland's Eastern Shore. In addition to being a dedicated and loving wife, Gloria also loved animals. She was a certified crossing guard in her hometown of Millington, Maryland where she also worked for many years at the post office. In recent years, she enjoyed family vacations at the Outer Banks in North Carolina. Her favorite times were those spent with her family.
She is survived by her mother, Pearl Fowler (Hutchins) and seven brothers and sisters: Barbara Anderson (Robert) of Linthicum, Maryland; Albert Fowler Jr. (Billie Jean) of Glen Burnie, Maryland; Stephen Fowler (Laurie) of Pasadena, Maryland; Joan Burton of Fort Wayne, Indiana; Rev. Garry Fowler (Debbie) of Elverson, Pennsylvania; Rhonda Sullivan (George) of Severn, Maryland; and Amy Cerrito (Joseph) of Knoxville, Maryland. She is also survived by multiple nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, all of whom adored their Aunt Gloria. She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Fowler Sr., brother Larry and brother-in-law Bill Burton.
Funeral services are virtual only through Hardesty Funeral Home and will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at hardestyfuneralhome.com with Rev. Dr. Garry Fowler presiding. Memorial gifts may be made to Harvest Worship Center, Downington, Pennsylvania.
