Obituary
Glenn Edward Porter III, 20, of Fallowfield Twp., passed away tragically on Saturday, June 24, 2023 as result of an automobile accident. Born on August 29, 2002, he is the son of Eric and Laurie (Benson) Porter.
He was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish and was an avid outdoorsman and golfer. He was a huge Steelers fan and enjoyed riding the 10th St bus to the games. He played football from flag through high school and was a 3 year letterman for Charleroi Area High School. Glenn recently graduated from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania Criminal Justice Training Center and had accepted a position as an officer for California Borough Police Department. He was an all around nice kid who will sorely be missed.
In addition to his parents, Glenn is survived by his younger brother, Tyler Porter, at home; grandmothers, Diane Porter (Bernie Liner), of Rostraver Twp., and Debbie Griest, of Fallowfield Twp.; aunts, Tracie (Steve) Flack, of Chambersburg and Stacey (Mike) Lee, of Charleroi; cousins, Noah, Ethan and Addie Flack and Savannah, Lilli and Mikey Lee; several extended family members to include aunts, uncles and cousins; his dogs, Duke, Ally and Manny; and his loving girlfriend of 2 years, Kylie Quigley, of Stockdale.
He is predeceased by his grandfathers, Glenn E. 'Pete' Porter, Jr., and Jack Griest.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 pm on Wednesday, June 28 and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm on Thursday, June 29 in the CARL J. SPALLINO FUNERAL HOME, 819 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, Joseph A. Lopez, funeral director. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 am on Friday, June 30 at St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, Charleroi, with interment following at Monongahela Cemetery. Guests are asked to PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH on Friday.
Because of anticipated crowds, there will be a continuous shuttle during visitation hours between the funeral home and the Chamber parking lot near the entrance of Vets Field.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations for a scholarship in Glenn's name benefiting a student of the IUP Police Academy. The scholarship will be set up at a future date and donations may be sent to Glenn's mother, Laurie Porter, 24 Esther St., Charleroi, PA 15022.
