Glenn Delano Hall 88, of Rome, passed away Wednesday April 14. Mr. Hall was born on March 7, 1933 in Rome, Ga., son of the late Van and Essie Hall. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Faye, brothers Ernest, Gene, Joe, Wayne, Bill, Ronnie and sister Sarah Stansell. He is survived by two sons from his first marriage (Roma), Bryan (Jan) and David (Janet) as well as stepchildren: Cindy Simmons, Tamara Harris (Rob), and Chuck Digsby. Grandchildren: Kelli Dover, Julie Burkhalter, Emily Russell, Molly Hall, Meredith Butler, Ben Hall, Thomas Hall and Tanner Hall. Step-grandchildren Ben Silver, Aspen Simmons, Tori Simmons, Cali Walker, Noah Tolbert, Shawn Alexander, Angela Alexander and Chelsea Digsby, plus numerous great grandchildren. Mr. Hall was a graduate of Rome High School in 1951 and proud to serve in the United States Marine Corps until 1955. Upon leaving the Marine Corps, Mr. Hall was one of the first employees hired at the new Inland Container plant in Rome. He retired after 36 years of service as Plant Production Manager. Mr. Hall was a member of the North Rome Church of God. He was a longtime football, baseball and basketball coach at the Boys Club as well as a 9-12 and Pony League baseball coach behind the levee. The family will receive friends on Friday April 16th from 12:30 - 2:00 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the chapel of the Good Shepherd Funeral Home in Rome with Rev. Shane Dover officiating. Pallbearers are Ben Hall, Ben Silver, Jesse Burkhalter, Ben Walker, Noah Carter and Hunter Dover. Interment will be at East view cemetery with Bryan Hall presiding . Special thanks to great friends Roy and Evelyn Mixon and to the entire staff and residents at The Harbor (Renaissance Marquis) for their kindness during trying times.
