Mrs. Glenda Fowler Callaway, age 77, of Silver Creek, passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at her residence.
Glenda was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on February 8, 1945, daughter of the late James Jerry "J.J." Fowler and the late Henrietta Ray Fowler. She was a member of Lindale Church of God. She worked in the 70's at Joyce's Beauty Shop as a receptionist and eyelash tech and later at Brock's Jewelry Store in West Rome. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Gail Edwards.
She was an avid reader and loved to cross-stitch, peruse the internet watching make-up tutorials, home d?cor, and lifestyle blogs. She enjoyed talking on the phone with her family and friends and her trips to Las Vegas to visit her family and any time spent with her precious granddaughters, Jayla and Casalyn, whom she lovingly referred to as her "C gulls". She always said, "Don't sweat the small stuff and it's mostly all small stuff", "Boredom is just a state of mind", "Guilt is from the devil", "If you can't get here on time just get here when you can", and "Stay weather alert" and she lived by these creeds.
She treasured her 58 years of marriage to her high school sweetheart, Robert Charles Callaway; her children whom she loved and was so proud of, Dawn Callaway, Brooke Callaway Deering (Rell), and Ken Callaway (Brooke); her beloved granddaughters, Jayla and Casalyn Callaway; her sisters, Brenda Sullivan, Lynn Tzelalis and Teresa Harrington; and a host of nieces, nephews, and special friends.
