A loving father, husband, son, brother, friend and genuinely warm person, Giridhar Karkera left for his heavenly abode on January 12th 2025 at a very young age of 55.
Giridhar Keshav Karkera ("Giri" as many of you may know him), was born on August 11th 1969 in Mumbai. He spent his early childhood in the suburbs of Andheri (4 Bungalows area), went to Versova Welfare Association High School ( class of 1985), Bhavans for his undergrad (1986-91) and NMIMS college for his graduate studies (1991-93). Giri immigrated to the US in 2001 and settled down in California, where he met his future wife (Neesha Suvarna) and tied the knot on January 5th 2003.
A person of great character, Giri was known for his "happy-go-lucky" attitude and his outgoing personality, touching everyone whom he connected with. His kind and personable demeanor made him a favorite amongst family and friends. He approached life with passion & curiosity, excelling in his 26+ year professional career in Consulting (at Tata Infotech, Hughes Communication, Ramco, Wipro, Infosys & Cognizant) and inspiring others with his work ethic & generosity.
Outside his professional life, Giri found joy in adventures like hiking, badminton, walking with the family dog Nico and sharing love and laughter with his young daughters (Tanvi & Trisha). Neesha and Giri shared a special bond spending quality time together over long walks, family vacations and visiting family across US & India. They recently celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary! Giri is also survived by his siblings (Guna, Yashwant & Harina) and his favorite nephew Abhishek.
Though his time with us was tragically short, Giri left an indelible mark in our hearts. His love, humor, and light will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Please join us in sharing your thoughts, pictures, anecdotes on this site as we hope to capture his living memories that will be etched in our hearts forever.
