Funeral service for Mrs. Ginger Glass, 74 of Carthage, will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Larry Staggs officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Center Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. A time of visitation will be held an hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Ginger Edge Glass was born on Monday, May 31, 1948, in Carthage, Texas to her parents Jessie Edge and Neil Graves Edge. She passed this life on Thursday, September 15, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Ginger was a jack of all trades. She was a beauty queen and competed in many pageants while in high school. She loved doing arts, crafts, sewing, baking and was a lover of life. She loved her family endlessly and fiercely.
Mrs. Ginger was a 1966 graduate of Carthage High School where she was voted homecoming queen that year and was later voted Miss. Panola County that same year. After graduating from CHS, she attended Panola College and met the love of her life, Ashley Glass. They married on Saturday, August 17, 1968, and together they celebrated 54 wonderful years together.
In 1977, she and Ashley opened their own gymnastics company where she served as a coach and bookkeeper. From 1979 - 1989, she opened, owned, and operated OREM Road Dance Academy where taught dance to many people.
After living in Houston for several years, they found their way back to their hometown of Carthage in 2013.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her oldest son, Shane Glass.
Mrs. Ginger is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Ashley Glass of Carthage; son, Whitney Glass and his wife Jenny of Houston, daughter Bianca George and her husband Stephen of Houston; grandchildren, Charlize and Pierce Glass, Skylar, Sierra, and Sterling George; sisters, Donna Edge - Taylor, Betty Edge, Terry Edge, and Debbie Edge - Sheffield.
