PAYNE, OH: Ginger (Johnson) Chester of Payne, OH passed away on April 2, 2022. Ginger had a deep love for her Lord Jesus Christ. She told her husband, Roger, that she was going to see Jesus today.
Ginger was born in Defiance, OH to Virgil and Grace (Fitzwater) Johnson. She lived in Paulding, OH and graduated from Paulding High School. She married Roger Chester on August 15, 1965. They were blessed with two sons, Darren and Brent Chester who both preceded her in death.
Surviving is her husband, Roger Chester, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She also had two great-grandchildren on the way. Ginger very much wanted to see her unborn great-grandchildren, but it wasn't in God's timing for her. Darren's children, Madison Chester, Zechariah (Tina) Chester and Kaleb Chester live in the Sturgis, Michigan area. Brent's children, Mikaela (Joey) Newbery live in the Detroit, Michigan area and Makenzie (Kyle) Abrams live in Fort Wayne, IN. She is also survived by a sister Jean (Russ) Rigg and many nieces and nephews that she loved and cherished in her heart like they were her own children. She also had two daughters-in-law that she loved like they were her own daughters.
Ginger was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Grace Johnson, a brother, Ralph Johnson and her two sons, Darren and Brent Chester.
Visitation will be held 2:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. on Friday, April 8, 2022 at Den Herder Funeral Home.
